Tutorial: Non-Traditional Gung Fu Brewing as Tool in Artistic Biotechnology

The tutorial explores tea drinking as the mental and bodily primer to compose and dance with fungi. Jan Glöckner shares their research and practice using biotechnology in their practice-led research.

Jan Glöckner studied Visual Communication, Fine Art and Media Art/Design at the Kunsthochschule Kassel (DE), Estonian Art Academy Tallinn and Bauhaus-University Weimar. Since 2020 they are a doctoral candidate at the Vilnius Academy of Arts. Venues where they exhibited in 2022 include Radio Art Zone, Ars Electronica and Documenta 15.

The workshop will explore tea drinking as the mental and bodily primer to compose and dance with fungi. Jan Glöckner will share their research and practice using biotechnology in their practice-led research. Join the workshop in alt-lab to drink the tea together with the artist and other participants.
