Jūratė Kamičaitytė – Virbašienė was born in 1975 in Lithuania. In 2003 she defended PhD of technological sciences „Landscape visual quality regulation in land management (Sample of Lithuania)” at Kaunas University of Technology. Since September of 2013 she works as professor at Kaunas University of Technology. Teaching subjects: Landscape Architecture, Use of Landscape Resources, Research Projects of master studies, Bachelor Final Degree Project, Territory Planning 1, Territory Planning 2, Territorial Systems, Fundamentals of Sustainable Design, Immovable Property and Sustainable Territorial Development. Today she is the author of 36 scientific articles and 2 course books; presented research results in 20 national and international scientific conferences. Since 1999 together with co-authors prepared 16 architectural projects and territory plans; participated in 5 national and international research projects. In 2011 – 2013 as co-author participated in preparation of Master plan of Kaunas City Municipality and performed evaluation of Kaunas urban potential, analyzed formants of city identity, and prepared conception of the Master Plan. The main research interests: landscape visual quality analysis, evaluation and regulation, methods of planned activity or object visual impact assessment, analysis of social preferences evaluating landscape visual quality and use of the analysis results in territory planning, evaluation of the potential of urban structures, expression of sustainable development conception in architecture, landscape architecture, town and territory planning.

TITLE OFF THE PAPER/PRESENTATION: RESEARCH OF URBAN STRUCTURES USING METHOD OF INTEGRATION THROUGH A NORMATIVE, INTEGRATIVE KEY QUESTION AS BOUNDARY OBJECT (KAUNAS CASE)

ABSTRACT

In 2011-2013, while preparing Master plan of Kaunas City Municipality till 2023, Department of Architecture and Urbanism (KTU) performed evaluation of potential of contemporary theoretical urban models and possibilities of their application to ensure sustainable development of Kaunas city; evaluation of the existing potential of Kaunas urban structures, and modeling of Kaunas urban structures sustainable development. Transdisciplinary research method of integration through a normative, integrative key question as boundary object was used to obtain the research results. The aim of the paper is to present the method of transdisciplinary research, way and results of its application.
